I hunt steuben county area and have been out over a dozen times for about 9 hours total each time out. I have seen 1 to 2 bucks at least half the times out, but have I have not seen 1 doe yet? The last couple of days I have seen bucks consistently. I know there chasing now, but in my area, what are they chasing?

finally saw a buck chasing a doe. First doe ive seen all year. I have seen 6 different bucks and only 1 doe. What does this mean? Where there are bucks there are doe's ? I know its vise versa:-)
