As expected Mathews is launching a pair of new bows at the ATA show - the Halon X and Halon X Pro. I'll have video and photos tomorrow after the show opens. The cam system looks like a smaller version of the Crosscentric cam and it has perimeter weights on it. The only difference I see between the X and X Pro is engraving on the limb pockets - unless I'm missing something. Specs as follows: - Up to 330 fps @ 75% letoff/328 fps @ 85% - 35" axle to axle - 7" brace height - 4.94 lbs - 50, 60, 70 lbs - 26" to 30.5" draw lengths - Mini Crosscentric cam system - MSRP $1,299
Good news for me is that my Halon 6, on order, still seems to be the perfect fit for my uses with its smaller axle to axle of 30".
I saw a picture of a Z3 on another site and it is a solo cam. Looked like the Z2 to me to be honest lol.
Not defending Mathews...but is this what the Archery world has grown into? 330fps is slow.....I bet I'm shooting next year around 25 or 260 fps after I build my new arrows and will continue to get full pass throughs like I did this year with a bow that shoots slower than this. Speed isn't everything. Next thing you know it people will start saying 2 inches worth of cutting for a broadhead is kinda small...
