I am located in Lincoln and had a great season! In my third archery season, I shot my first wall hanger this year! A true deer of a lifetime (for a public land hunter) I green scored him at 173 1/8" gross and should have an official score by the end of the month.
I had a great 2014 season despite shoulder surgery 5 days after the season opener. I live in omaha and hunt public and 1 private spot mostly in Saunders county. Would you agree that deer numbers are coming back after Ehd hit?
Yeah man! Public land monster! Grossed at 171 7/8 and net of 155 4/8. Thats a great buck you got yourself! I mostly hunt public land in Gage and Jefferson Counties but I'm hoping to get on some private near Memphis in Saunders County. Definitely agree about the Ehd comeback! I'm excited to see what the next year or two brings, as far as mature buck numbers!

I'm on either side of the Thayer/Nuckolls county line. Right here, the Republican is in Kansas. In fact is crosses the border not very far from me.
I hunt close the the Republican River in south central Nebraska. Deer populations are still a little down from EHD we had a couple of years ago..

I know some farmers in that area around memphis and Saunders county that I'm going to try to get permission messaging me if you want in on it cause its a lil more fun when hunting with other like minded people. Most of my friends that I've tried hunting with usually make it hard to hunt with em due to their lack of knowledge in scent control, playing the wind, patience, and being quiet sitting still for long periods of time. Could not agree with you more! I only have one buddy I can tolerate hunting with! I will definitely hit you up about that sometime! Do you get after turkey at all? I'm getting pretty excited since we're only 3 weeks from the opener!
Can I resurrect this thread to see if anyone has been getting anything good on camera this summer? My cameras have all taken a crap so I'm Jones'n for some pics. 2014 season was still pretty slow on my ground but it is getting better. I only saw one "shooter" last fall from the stand but had several good bucks on camera. Hopefully this year we start seeing some better numbers of mature bucks moving around again. It has been 2 years since I have taken a deer, mostly by choice, but that is going to change this year. My standards have dropped some and hopefully we have enough does now that I feel like I can take one home.
