Me and a few buddies were thinking about coming down to Ohio for a week after football season ends next year. We're looking to hunt public land, and want to pick out a few areas now so we can check them out in the summer. Any suggestions? Maybe any spots that look good but you don't hunt or haven't hunted in a while?:D
Public Land here in Ohio isn't bad before gun season, after the thousands of people tromp through it during gun season it can get pretty tuff. Really any of the state parks are good, we do a lot of dove hunting and fishing on them and always see deer..
Yah looking to go Late October- Early November Maybe over Thanksgiving week? Worth dragging climbers down or just stillhunt?
I have private property that border Eastfork State Park which is in southern ohio. It has a lot of different areas you can access it and usually isnt too pressured until gun season.
My buddy shot a nice 130 inch at east fork couple years ago. And shot a nice 158 inch over at indian creek this year he has pretty good luck at public land in ohio.
Zaleski state forest in southeast Ohio is usually pretty good although was slow this year and vinton county is down like 25% last I saw
