A question to the northern IL guys. Which bow shops do you guys go to? I don't really have a "go to" shop or one that I frequent the most and am looking for opinions/pros/cons/experiences that you have had with certain shops. I live in Pecatonica which is in between Rockford and Freeport. Thanks

Gonna be a bit of a ways from you but I go to Buck Stop in West Dundee. Great shop and they are having an open house this weekend so it's a great time to go check them out!

Buck Stop is too far for me but I also hear a lot of very good things about them.
I go to Strictly Archery in Shorewood, but that will probably be too far for anyone up near rockford.

If you wanna shoot down 39, Indian Creek archery is great, again though, bit of a cruise for you. It's in Earlville/Sheridan

I ended up going to Obsession Archery in Machesney Park. Couldn't be happier with my experience.

I don't know much about them but the range is 40 yards and I think Tim makes his own strings there too

Stateline Archery in Freeport is where i go. Service has been good and they have a indoor range you can shoot at by the day or get a membership if you want and also an outdoor range a few miles outside of town heading towards pec.. I plan on getting one this year so i can shoot in the cold winter months of the off season just to occupy my time since its only 3 blocks from my apartment. Have also heard good things about obsession but havnt been there myself.

That's a good idea for the off-season cold months.

I second Tim at TAZ. Also, he makes frickin' awesome strings. Had to replace my originals on my Mathews a few years ago just less than 6 months after I bought the bow. 2 years later when I sold the bow it still had Tim's strings on the bow and still did not need to be replaced. Probably too far for you though.
