Howdy y'all. Well as much as this pains me to say, I may be losing access to my private land around Wichita, and if I don't find something else to hunt I may turn to the public lands in the area.

I attend KU, so I'm going to start looking into the Clinton lake area. I've been out there before and have seen deer and turkey, I just need to put in more effort to get off the beaten path. I may have found few good spots already.

So I have a few questions. With public land, what do you have to do to be successful in the early season? Obviously getting between bedding areas and food sources is important.

Anyone in the area that is in need of a hunting partner?

Anyone in the area know of any spots at Clinton or other public land that would be a good start?

    Thanks for the help,
    Kyle
