Southwest MO here. Right on the MO/KS border. Bryce...hunted the Macon/Shelby county line right out of Shelbina growing up. Really enjoyed the area up there. Cledus...hunted Hillsboro growing up in St. Louis too. Lived up Hwy 21 just past the Meramec River.
I have 3 family farms outside Macon towards Kirksville , and I have alot of ground in.pike/Lincoln co.
I believe just west of town on a friends property who owns Star Lumber Co...couldn't tell you the exact location but the guy's name is Greg Cole
Ill be in Missouri soon, is it mostly land leases? or if I go around to farmers do you think I would be able to get free and private land access?
I don't think you will have much trouble finding a farmer let you hunt coyotes in MO. What area are you going to be near? We don't have a hog problem in most of the state. Really only down in the southeast I believe. The Conservation department does not condone hunting specifically for hogs, as they are trying to eradicate them in other ways. They have been baiting them in certain locations, trying to trap and or kill as many as possible. They feel that hog hunting disperses the hogs, and makes it harder for them to do their job. They do however, instruct people to shoot them on sight when they see them while in the field for other purposes. As far as deer hunting on private land, it's still available. You just have to find the right farmers.
Ill be in central missouri, in Pulaski County I believe. I wouldn't mind driving an hour or two either. I did read about that hog hunting deal on the DNR website, I just want bacon man
Hunting Crawford County here near Bourbon. The wait is almost over! Looking forward to some time in the stand tomorrow. Good luck and be safe, everyone!
I'm hunting out of Macon too (well Atlanta but close to Macon). Family has 1800+ acres out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
