Anyone notice a change in patterns recently? Had 4 dandies now poof gone just curious how my fellow wisconsinites r doing!
I didn't have anything on my cameras at all besides a fawn that would regularly come and go a couple weeks ago. But now have some does in the middle of the night and a small 5pt come through at dusk out of no where. You on public land or private?
Haven't been up north to check my cameras in a couple weeks. Here's to hoping your 4 dandies show up on my cameras.
Lol right, i hunt on private land. Im sure they gotta be near by with all these does but a river runs on it and they follow that river back and forth to different fields between my area and my uncles land. Just need to find a way to keep em closer lol
I have not seen any bachelor buck groups in our bean fields for the last couple of weeks also. I did notice that some of the oaks are just starting to drop some acorns...most are green...but could explain why I am not seeing the boys anymore. Note: I have not checked my cameras in a week or two. Should provide some information on if the bucks are still hanging around or found a better neighborhood.
I shot bow for an hour or so tonight. I purchased the new 2016 Hoyt Carbon Spyder this year in under armor ridge reaper. Got it dialed in out to 50 right now and it's deadly! Got my tractor this year and my king kutter disk for my food plots. Also built 2 six foot high, eight foot by eight foot platforms to strap ground blinds into and located them on two of my plots where good trees are far between and I can hunt them on multiple wind directions. I got my plots in late because I was in China for work so they are what they are. Turnips, clover, radishes etc.... Been in the ground roughly 4 weeks. Cannot wait for Friday to head to the cabin and get out Saturday morning. Got all my gear washed up and ready.
This guy is showing up during daylight. i'm not going back till i can kill him. I'm hoping he is still showing up. Remember this is a mental game more then anything don't get into your own head just yet. Look at what changed in your area, maybe move your cameras a bit. Lots of beans getting yellow around here. Also i've seen some corn coming down already. Stay focused.
^^^Got that right. Our property is mostly a home range for a few different doe groups, and the border of different buck territories. Every once in a while we'll get a buck that calls our farm "Home" but usually, I have to depend on the rut and pre-rut and our concentration of does to get any buck of higher caliber to cruise through and stick around.
Thats exactly how mine is. Any decent buck i have killed has been when they are cruising for does cuz they bed/live in my little section
