Rob sounds freakin awesome I somehow just saw your message about POW. I'll ask around for a third and even cover the third man's float plane costs if necessary if I cant find anyone to make this trip happen. I'll call you to catch up sometime later this week.

If you're wanting something smoother to draw that's easier on the elbow you should check out the new Elite Hunter. It draws way smoother than my Mathews DXT did.

Seriously? You could live to be 100 and there's nothing in the world that bow won't kill when matched with the right arrow. You'll never "need" anything else. The question is, will you "want" something else? That's why most bows are replaced. The Switchback is a great bow and should do well by you for years to come.

Hello, having read some of your posts and getting a feeling you are very practical and tell it like it is I would like your opinion on my bow, I have a Mathews Switchback XT 70# 30" and I plan on hunting continental U.S. game, elk, deer, pigs and hopefully bear some day. The reason I ask is I could buy another bow or is the bow I have sufficient?
      thanks, Steve

Good News! That's scary to hear but glad that it worked out in the end. Can't wait for the post and pictures.

Back, and I arrowed a 72 1/8 incher with both bows. I shot the oxen first with the Bogan from 25 yards. The arrow made it through the first 12 inches of wool, past four inches of shoulder meat, and the tip came to a rest between two ribs. The tip barely punched the chest chamber. He ran off with the arrow flopping-it fainally fell out after a 1/4 mile dash. It didn't take me long to realize the 53# longbow was too little! I worked my way back up on the beast and dropped him with a single arrow froom the compound. I was amazed! Even the 74# bow only got 13 inches of penetration. I will get up photos and the story after I've had some sleep. the 38 hour drive from Yellowknife has taken it's tole!
