Hey, new to the page. I'm 44 years old from Central Ohio. My son got me back into hunting after a few years of not be successful. Anyway, I'm loving every minute of my hunting and I'm WAY more successful the second go around. Killed my first buck (deer for that matter) this past fall... a 133 5/8" non-typical.

I do hunt with a CROSSBOW for now. Didn't want to sink a bunch of money into something I was not sure I was going to like and I wanted to make sure I could kill anything I shot at.

    Later,

    Aka, Thomas Hack

If you think that a crossbow was exciting wait till you try a compound bow.

Good to have another fellow Newb here. I've been taking some good ole ribbin here & there for my complaints on the Newb status. We are similar in age, and that my son got me to return to hunting.

I hear ya on the money part!!! I'm not a fan of crossbows (but don't hold it against anyone either). I used to only shoot recurves and long bows, my own cedar arrows. My father was a great shot & had so much archery knowledge that some of it overflowed and sunk into my brain....only some - and his shooting skill didn't migrate my way.

I'm gonna send you a private message with some advice about how to NOT follow in my foot steps
