Hello everyone: My name is Tony Ellis. I have been hunting for as long as I can remember. I picked up bow hunting 4 years ago and it has become my passion. This offseason, I intend on buying a new bow. My question is, once I purchase the bow, should I get the bow tuned or anything like that? Is there a way to get measured so that I know exactly what my draw length should be? And lastly, how far should I arrow stick out when the bow is at full draw? I have recently cut my arrows an inch longer than my draw length but was not sure if there was a rule of thumb. Thank you all, be safe and good luck! Tony

Welcome! A good archery shop like dukester stated should help you get everything tuned, your draw length and weight figured out. Typically, your arrow will be a half inch to an inch longer than your draw length, so you're good there. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Glad that you found us. Lots of great info here and some great people willing to help. As has been said, find a good bow shop and let them fit you and then shoot every bow that they will let you shoot. You will find one that fits you and feels best to you. Good luck on your new adventure!
Welcome! Just want to echo the need for a good archery shop visit. One that will let you shoot several models. In a couple hours after making your selection, they'll send you home with a dialed in bow!
