    Greetings.

I'm happy to say that after a 20+ year hiatus I had a bow back in my hands today. And it felt great!

I grew up in S TX and hunting was a part of my life. Unfortunately, as I graduated and started military life everything got set aside. Then came along a family. Now my 10-y-o is enjoying the bow we got him last year and I decided it was time to get back.

My old Bear has seen better days and I found a deal I couldn't pass up. I now own an awesome Hoyt Alphamax 32 set to 64.69# with a 29" draw. I managed to get it sighted in at 15 yards pretty quickly (really need to figure out how to get some more yardage out of the backyard!). I think I did pretty well for not firing a bow in a couple of decades. The errant shot I'll blame on my lack of experience with a release. I have a lot to learn. :)

I was still bringing the sight onto the bull so these aren't quite where I wanted them yet but I can't complain about the grouping!

    Here's my backyard setup.

Really looking forward to getting proficient enough with this new rig to get out and score some deer, turkey, and yummy little porkers.

Glad you succumbed to the addiction. It's a hard one to ever overcome but it's a great "family disease!"
All of us here suffer from it.
    Keep at it.

    ENJOY.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

Goodness gracious I've loving this! How'd I stay away for so long?

I learned another lesson today. When adjusting the sight, make sure you loosen the correct screw. I learned this when the site slid off and hit the ground.
    :rant:Back to the drawing board!

My son couldn't wait for me to finish mowing the yard so we could hit the backyard again. We each have our own lane and he was super proud of this shot. I have him shooting at 7 yards. Beyond that his little bow doesn't have much oomph and the arrows drop a good bit.

Yeah, I need to try to spread them out more. I can't afford the price of arrows these days. I might sell someone's kidney. ;)
