HI I am a gamekeeper from the UK and having hunted all legal quarry in my own country with rifles, air rifles, hawks, falcons, dogs and shotguns. I am now looking for the challenge of hunting with a bow. Unfortunately this is not legal in the UK and I am looking for some advice on how I could visit the USA and perhaps hunt some hogs etc. I have no idea how I can go about this so I thought that perhaps you pro's could point me in the right direction, any help and advice you guys may be able to put my way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
Good luck with your hunt. No hogs here so I can't help. Keep bumping this and I'm sure that someone here has the info. Good people here. ENJOY!
Welcome. Florida has reasonably priced Non-Resident Permits. WMA's have Seasons on Hogs. On Private Land you don't need a License to hunt hogs and there aren't any Seasons or Limits. Your better bet would be going through an Outfitter. One of the forum members uses Swine in the Pines. Search it on here to get a better idea.
Thanks guys, and thanks for the info. I say hogs but obviously I am up for any kind of hunting at all, I sort of have this idea of renting a cabin somewhere and just taking my bow into the woods to hunt whatever I can find, you know squirrel, rabbit, deer, etc. But not really into the whole outfitter scene, would rather either hunt alone or with a couple of good guys that have the patience for a novice like myself. Any Idea's? Coop
Welcome to the site! I'd start looking into outfitters coming from the UK. A couple of guys from the BHOD staff work/own this company. Big Horn Outfitters | Wyoming This episode of BHOD is Justin hunting mule deer on their ranch. I know they have antelope too and they would probably be a good place to start. https://www.bowhunting.com/video/bowhunt-or-die-season-6-episode-12/ I don't have any idea on pricing or anything but from what I've seen and talking to them a little on the forum, they seem like great people.
