Hey all, I'm new to the forum and new to bow-hunting. I've wanted to do it for years. I live in the great Pacific NW, but have spent my entire adult life "playing Army" and hopping across the pond in support of GWOT, both as a soldier and a contractor. Now that all that's behind me I want to start up some of these things called "hobbies" I've heard civilians are supposed to have. I figured bow hunting is a good place to start. I have elk pretty much walking in my back yard a couple of times a week, and I'm smart enough to know I need help. I got me a bow, some arrows and I've been practicing with my broad heads for about a year. I feel comfortable out to about 50 yards right now and that should be enough for the cows that come up on the property. Here are some pics of the elk and my humble set up. I bought it used from a guy at the archery range.
Glad you've joined us. Lots of good info and experience here. Join in the conversation. This isn't really a "hobby"............... "IT'S AN ADDICTION!!!!!!!!!!" ENJOY!!!!!
Welcome! I'm new to bow hunting and I'm also from Washington. looks like you have some good elk in your backyard!
What area do you hunt? My brother moved to Leavenworth and is looking for public land to track down some elk.
