Well I guess my first question would be, what a good bow for a beginner is? and other setup related stuff.

My first suggestion would be if you have an archery shop local or within driving distance go there and have them measure you for your draw length and see what bows they have in that are setup try several different ones and you will need to determine what your optimal draw weight is ( What feels comfortable for you keep in mind a white tail can be taken with 45 to 50lbs of draw as long as the arrow is placed correctly) Mission Bows by Mathews is a good bow to start with also Diamond makes a few offerings I would try but see what they have at your local shop in your price range and try them out.

Kinda like buying a car, the guys at the bow shop are in the business of selling bows and will generally treat you right because they want your return business, since your just starting out I would focus on buying a package bow that's already setup with sights and rest and the like PSE, Diamond, Bear and Mission I believe all have ready to hunt models for sale, all you have to do after that is get arrows, hunting broadheads and a release.

look up all of the brands I mentioned here online like on major retail sight and do lots of reading up, you've already taken the first step to an awesome sport and way of life I guarantee that the majority of the folks on this site will help you all they can as long as you ask.

Again Welcome to the site and to Archery!

Welcome to the forum. For a beginner I would recommend you check out Parker's Ultralite 30+
