Hey guys and gals, I have kinda a dumb question. I am looking to buy a single pin sight for my bow. Everyone normally sets there pin at 20 yds, my question is if the pin is set at 20yds is the aim point the same at something say at 15 yds. Or when i am setting up the sight for the first time can i set the pin at 15 yds and go up from there? Thanks for the help in advance. Also what would yall suggest as a reasonably inexpensive single pin sight.
I shoot HHA sights and I sight them in at 20 and 60 yards as the instructions indicate. Doing this ensures you being accurate out to 100 yards if you so choose to shoot long ranges. I wouldn't deviate from whatever the Sight Manufacturer says when sighting in the bow. What is your price range? Just remember, you get what you pay for. If you are undecided, try getting a good used one pin sight online to see if you like it.
With most bows setting the pin to 20 would be fine at 15. You would of course want to shoot it to make sure where you are hitting. The cheaper single pins can be fustrating. Sluggish adjustments or even movement. Check for reviews on several sites to get an idea on how people like them. HHA and Spot-Hogg make a great single pin. Tru-Glo makes a decent one too
You can probably find a used hha optimizer, maybe about $40-50...it'll be money well spent. Ok maybe sub $75, depending on where you look.
My wife and I both use the HHA Optimizer King Pin sight. Works great, impeccable customer service, and exceptional warranty! Slider works great. Estimate the range of your target (once zeroed), dial in the range, and fire. Really cleans up your sight picture having one pin as opposed to 5-7 pins.
Iv got a MBG ascent ambush and absolutely love it. Not sure how an hha could improve upon it, but iv never used one. Just sight in at the 20 and 60 and your good to go. Most modern bows you should be dead on at 15 with it set at 20 Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
