I am looking for advice on a good fixed broadhead. The ones I am shooting now penetrate very well but do not seem to leave a very good blood trail. Any advice from what has worked well for others would be appreciated. Thanks much.
Slick trick or thunder heads both do well and will get the job done. What are you currently shooting?
I'm excited to start shooting NAP Hellfires this Fall I'll still shoot my Killzones, but I wanted a fixed blade for elk.
If your looking for blood trails take a look at Ramcats, they have a big cut, fly super and did a hell of number on everything I killed with them so far.
Any good fixed blade will leave a good blood trail depending on the hit. I like the Wasp Boss 3 blade. They are a tough, very sharp, and fly well. I've had heavy and sparse blood trails with them but always had some blood to follow.
Thanks all for the info. After checking out the suggestions I ordered some of the slick trick magnum broadheads. Hopefully it will work well on a very big elk . Thanks again for help.
i love my slick tricks, the blades never got dull, shot 3 deer this year and they're still sharp as hell, awesome blood too, i have no complaints about em deffinetly would recommend them to anyone
I have shot slick trick magnums and cannot for the life of me to get them shooting correctly. I had a horrible time getting them to come close to field points. I tried magnus buzzcuts and they were better, but not shooting where I would like. Talked to a few archery shops, and finally caved and bought another fixed head. Picked up the g5 montecs and could not have been more happy. Hit right where my field points hit. Methods I used for tuning, French tune, walk back, yoke tuning, paper tune. I tried then all and just had bad luck with slick tricks Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
