New to Hunting

I have never used a compound bow or a cross bow.

A friend of mine and I are planing for a archery hunt next year, since I am new what would be easy for me to start off hunting with compound bow or cross bow?

 

What state do you live in? Some states it's illegal to use crossbow without a doctor's note.

 

With no real archery experience you will do less harm with a crossbow. You will still have to practice and get good at range estimation. Invest in a range finder and practice.
