when you find a good place for stand placement should you hunt it the same day it is set up. or should you wait?

If you can hang it and hunt it with the right wind do it the same day.

That is why climber stands are so light.
You can hunt till you find a good spot, climb a tree and hunt.

Many times that first time in is the best chance you have on seeing a deer.

... now, that depends on many factors including how you go about hanging & trimming your stands.

If season is open and I'm in the woods you can bet I'm hunting if at all possible.
Shot my first buck this season at dusk in a stand I packed in and hung 3hrs prior (climber)

I always try and limit the noise that I make while doing anything while hunting.
However, cutting a shooting lane and slowly climbing a tree will make some noise but within 5 minutes I find that the woods have forgotten that I was there as long as I remain fairly still.

I killed a really nice deer this year and I hung the set at my lunch hour and then came back out after work and shot it. I love hunting a set that same day

Good equipment you can hang a stand very quietly. I've hung stands with deer within 50 yards many times.

When the moon is overhead or underfoot near sunset or sunrise it increases deer movement on those evenings and mornings.

If the wind allows you to set it, then by all means hunt it.
