I am in the market for a new hang on tree stand. I am looking for some input on what everyone recommends
Check out the Millenium treestands. The Most Comfortable treestands on the market. You can sit in the for HOURS and never have to stand due to discomfort. They use a Cam Loc Receiver. You can buy extra Cam Lock Receivers and use one stand for several different locations. I have the M25, M50, M100 and M100U. If you like being mobile, get the M100U. Only weighs 11.5 ibs. If you want to buy one and leave it in a tree, get the M50. The seat height is adjustable. Cam Loc Reciver M50 M100U
I like that Cam lock Technology, these definitely just got moved up on the list. Is there somewhere you would recommend purchasing them through? Prior to this I was looking at Lone wolf prior and stumbled upon XOP. Have you heard anything about them?
I buy mine on Ebay. Farmsteadoutdoors. I have also bought them on Amazon. I really like the Lone Wolf Alpha II . I have contemplated buying one for about a year now. I love the color scheme of the Lone Wolf as well as how their climbing sticks fit to their stand for easy transporting. XOP are replicas of the Lone Wolf. If I am not mistaken, they were designed by the same person/owner. Either way you can't go wrong.
I'm with Sam on this. M100U is the way to go. I will say pay the couple extra dollars and get the Ratchet style straps and not the chains. Much easier to install.
You're gonna get 100 dif answers. It depends on so many factors. The age you are, the size of your butt, sorry but it's true, if youll be continually relocating it or letting squirrels chew it. Lots of factors n many choices. If it's a one n only stand though Id recommend a climber. One stand (or any stand) in one spot should only be hunted in perfect conditions for that stand and imo resting a spot is key. Climber gives options but maybe you already have one
Millennium for fixed and hang-on......ole man drone climber or tree walker.......have em and love em. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I love my lone wolf climber and my lone wolf hang on/climbing sticks. The exact set up advertised at the bottom of this thread is as good as it gets if you want to be mobile or if you can't hang a permanent set.
I have a summit viper, and lone wolf sit and climb I love them both. The only problem is the spot I am trying to hunt is not climber friendly.
Are you planning to leave it in place for a long duration? If so I really like Guide Gear sling style seat steel hang-on's from the Sportsman's Guide. They're inexpensive compared to many other brands, notice I did not say cheap as I feel they are excellent and sturdy treestands. If you are packing in and moving often then the other recommendations above all are spot on.
I'm thinking about going with the m100u I am just going to try to find one to try out before purchasing one.
From Millennium, it's like $240. I got mine cheaper from Midway. It's pricey but definitely worth the cost to me. Plus you can buy an extra bracket to leave on the tree for 25$ a piece. Just seen a M7 on AT for $180 with 3 receivers.
How & where do you hunt? That should be the first question asked. What kind of trees do you need to hang in? Are you run & gunning? Will you hang them once and leave them all year? You hunt late season?
