I've always wanted to get into archery and recently I bought a Bear Attitude. I took to the practice field as soon as I could and was able to produce solid groupings on target (within an inch or so at 10-15 yards) My plan is to practice until I feel comfortable shooting from various positions and ranges before I hit the woods. It would be greatly appreciated if y'all could provide me with some advice for a novice shooter.

With shooting I start out shooting at 20 yards until I'm completely confident then move back 10 yards to 30 and continue. The idea is to be confident at 40 yards and then just shoot deer at 30 yards. The moving back will make you closer shoots much easier.

If it's hunting advise find some tracks follow the tracks and try not to get ran over by a train. Just kidding but seriously watch out for trains

Also make sure you field points are the same weight as your broad heads. I never knew this mattered

My Question would be more towards hunting. Here in GA its still pre-rut and im getting them out at 60+ yards and i am just not comfortable making that shot. What something to do to try and draw them in closer.

Not much in the early season u can do, maybe some scent or just some light quiet sound. Doe or fawn sound, save the grunts till Nov. Don't shoot 60!!!! If all else fails, patience usually works. Good luck

Welcome to the site! Shoot from an elevated position as much as possible. Shoot standing and sitting as well.

I can't speak for anyone else on here but, you really should not shoot over 40 yards at a deer. There are many variables in such an equation and lots that could go wrong. If you're a fan of long strikes maybe gun is a better fit.

But if you can get a good group at 60 you will love your groups at 40
