Great forum! I have learned a lot from this website already. I've hunted most of my life and finally at 27 decided I wanted the challenge of bow hunting.

I have a bear attitude at 60lbs dw and have a 29.5 in DL. Currently in shooting 300 spine arrows and 125gr field points. My arrows are 31 inches. Im grouping pretty good with this set up but would like suggestions.

How long should my arrows be?

Can anyone suggest a good arrow and for deer hunting?

    Thanks

    Glad that you found us.

I have a 28.5" draw length and my arrows are cut 29".
I have had good success with Easton Axis and Easton FMJ's for my hunting arrows.

    Good luck and ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Now you've just opened a big can of worms!!!!!!!!

I'm a fixed blade fan. My favorite, go to head would be a German Kinetic but they are very expensive.
I also shoot Slick Tricks and they have never let me down either, and much more reasonably priced.

Hahaha thank you so much! I had a crossbow the past couple of years and favored fixed blades myself. I will definitely give those a try!

Welcome to the site!... that setup sounds fine to me. Just make sure the draw length is right and that you don't struggle pulling the weight and you should be fine. Practice as much as you can.... as for broadheads you can't go wrong with an NAP Sling blade broadhead. There are a lot of good ones out there though.

I absolutely love the Easton Axis arrow and use 125 Ramcat. Took 4 deer last year with none going very far. In fact all 4 crashed within earshot.. welcome and good luck.

Glad you signed up for the forums!
I would say those arrows are about the right length, and if things are working I wouldn't suggest changing arrows. I do however like the Carbon Express Pile Driver PTX arrows. They are heavier than most though.
