I'm relatively new to this archery thang, so I need the help of the collective.... My wife has expressed some interest in getting into archery. (yay me! :D) With two daughters who are getting ready to go off to college in the next couple of years, my wife is realizing she needs a hobby, so archery might be it. She is interested mainly in target, 3D, and finding something we can do together. Although she could eventually start archery hunting, I'm not holding my breath. I would like to get her a compound bow package. I'm looking for a package that could be good to start, could easily accommodate varying draw weights as she develops her archery muscles, decent to shoot, and perhaps good to use for my daughters too, if they are interested. Any suggestions? FYI, my wife is 5'6", 125, and relatively strong for her size, if this matters.
My daughter who is 5'4" and 110# just bought a G5 Quest Radical and absolutely loves it. I've already raised the weight from 35 to 38 to 42 and she thinks that she's ready to have me change it again.
Thanks, ElkG. How much DW adjustment does the G5 have? I've seen some bows that have more than the traditional 10 range.
I'm looking to get my wife a Bear Cruzer. It's highly adjustable for both draw length and weight. My first thought was to get her one of the ladies bows but then decided to go with the Cruzer because if she decided to give up on archery, then I can still turn it up to my weight an length and use it.

Just to complete this thread-- My wife and I went looking at bows and she tried out the Quest Radical and the Bear Cruzer. Last weekend, we ended up buying her the G5 Quest Radical package. She was very excited about it and has been practicing in our basement. I think the Radical will be the perfect bow for her as she gains experience. Thanks for all of the help.
Having already bought several bows for my daughters and girlfriend a few suggestions. I would make sure to get one in green camo and if she wants girly(pink, purple, etc) accessories on it that's fine but if you get a pink bow it will be impossible to sell. Also if you look at something with a large range in draw weight you can always turn it into a bowfishing rig in the future if she decides it isn't for her. I would suggest that you look at the Diamond Infinity Edge Pro. Super value and extremely adjustable at 5-70lbs. I have purchased several of them and have been happy with all of them.

My suggestion would be for you to go to your Mathews pro-shop and see if she likes any of the mission bows they have great packages that are perfect for beginners and they are very versatile for changing the draw weights
