Hi my name is Bob and I'm an alcoholic... wait wrong group! Hey all I'm new to archery and bow hunting, I'm actually still waiting on my first bow to be delivered. So I have a question while I wait... What is meant by 75% or 80% let off?

Welcome to the site! Not sure your first comment was all that wrong! Let-off is the amount of strength needed to hold the bow at full draw.

Easy example to understand: say your draw weight was 100lbs. and letoff was 80%.

It would take 100lbs of strength to draw bow but would then only take 20lbs to hold it in that position till release.

Everyone can and sure they will correct me if I'm wrong but thats how I have always understood it.

Welcome to the site! Ferg is right, it means that the cam system reduces the hold weight by 80% (or what ever the lef off is). Congrats on the new bow :tu:

Awesome I look forward to gaining some of the knowledge that a lot of y'all have so as to better improve my abilities! I honestly don;t know why I waited so long to get into archery/bow hunting. I was born and raised in western Montana and grew up big game rifle hunting... I only wish bow hunting would have hooked me as a kid since the difference of game in Alabama vs Montana is so drastic.

    Thanks REMYNGTON!

So I just got back from the local pro shop from getting my bow tuned and setup along with some test shooting and let me tell you this baby shoots like a dream... quiet, quick and very accurate! I gotta say growing up in Montana and rifle hunting my entire youth and teenage years I have surely missed out with this bow thing, I'm just glad I finally made it to the game :)

P.S. I'm really digging the Code Red fallaway rest too!
