    Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and to Bow Hunting.

I'm looking for my first bow. My budget is $1K which I think should buy me a flagship bow from whoever. So far I've been looking at Mathews and Bowtech.

From talking to my Bow Hunting Buddies the accessories that I need are:

    - Peep sight
    - String loop
    - String silencers
    - Half a dozen arrow's
    - a GOOD sight
    - A GOOD Arrow rest setup
    - A reasonably good Quiver
    - A reasonably good Wrist Caliper

So could I ask for advise on what is recommended for 1st the bow and then accessories? I am planning on hunting Deer in Southern CA.

    Thanks for any advice!

Good no fail rest. Great to learn on. Chances are you'll want a drop away in the future. Go shoot a bunch. See what you like

Welcome to the site! I would go out and try several bows and find one that you like first. Depending on what you get will determine what else you are going to need for it. Some of those things you mentioned you will regardless of what you buy some you might now need. Good luck with your search!

There are so many different brands as well as models to choose from that the only reasonable thing to do is take a few days and travel to different dealers and test shoot a bunch of different bows. As stated above depending on which bow you buy may determine some of the accessories you would like to put on it. I highly recommend the WB rest, great rest and fail proof when starting out.
