I really want to give this a try. Have some family property on a lake that is loaded with gar.

Any tips on how to get started?

I am assuming my current rig (below) won't work?

Any bow will work...its just a matter of how much you want to beat the bow up. Bowfishing tends to be very tough on equipment! My best advice for just getting started is to hit up garage sales and pawn shops for old bows.

I have an old bow I would sell cheap as a bow fishing set up. It's a 40 lb browning micro Midas 3
