Me and my wife have been making custom decals locally for 5+ years now. We have since decided to get into making and selling online to supplement our current incomes. I can design and cut just about anything you can imagine. I usually recommend not going over 12" but can do bigger projects. Most projects will range from $5 to $10 shipped per decal. I can customize them any way you want. Here are a few I made recently that deals with bow hunting. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
We talked about a website, but it's a lot of work to get it set up and we really don't have a set inventory as of now so we don't have a lot to put on a site. My wife played around last week with one but we just gave up on it. Www.tiffscustomtreasures.com Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Yeah they can be kind of complicated and frustrating to build but they are so worth it. I'd revisit it every once in a while and try to finish it. Once you get accustomed to manipulating it you may decide to just completely redo it and get more creative with it. Personally I love messing with them but I was a graphic arts major so there's that but they are crucial to a successful business these days if one is serious about a volume of work. Have you done any signs or wraps for vehicles? Those would be nice examples to post on the website, maybe some lists of things you can do with the equipment you have to give folks some ideas of how they can use your services.
Ya I see where you are coming from, it will prob. Be something we work on from time to time, but right now we both work full time but enjoy making decals. Its more of a hobby than a business for us right now. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Often times that's the way good business start out and a lot of the time the way it gets to the "next" level is from using a website. I always thought that would be a neat business to be in. I have a local shop that I use once in a great while and it's pretty amazing what can be made with a computer and a printer and some talent. I wish you the best of luck with it.
Something to think about...I'd be worried about the legalities of printing and selling a trademarked logo.
Sometimes you got to live life on the edge. If they want to sue me for their profits I made from using their logo I'll happily cut them a check for $20 Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
I look at it this way. I'm advertising for the company for free when I cut the logo out for a decal. I should send them a bill for advertising. Now if I built a bow and stuck a hoyt logo on it then I think I would need to worry about copyrights. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Well I believe it could either be considered Trademark Infringement or Trademark Counterfeiting both of which carry hefty fines (not just paying them the profits). But you go right ahead and live life on the edge.
There is thousands of people across the US doing the same thing I do and a lot of them on a lot bigger scales. Untill they start shutting them down and taking them to court then I'll keep smiling and cutting away. Since this is now considered highly illegal activity I'm going to have to go up on my prices. The good ole everyone else is doing it argument. Seriously man, have fun with the printing. I was just giving you something to think about.
