    Morel recipes

So other than the standard breading and frying, what are your best / favorite morel recipes?

Well, the first ingredient is morels... this year I don't have any yet, so nothing to make.

I like them sautéed in olive oil, nothing else. Eat them as a side or in some garlic butter pasta. I think they are best when made very simple.

I'm grilling some tonight with just olive oil and salt and pepper with the Cajun rubbed turkey breast I shot this AM. Just looking for something different. Although I do agree they are best when they get to speak for themselves.

I like to sautee them in a pan with olive oil until all of the water cooks out of them. Then I drizzle some soy sauce and right at the end I put in some butter to thicken the sauce.

Hmm. That soy sauce is something I hadn't thought of Tom... Have to give that a day in court.
Grilled some more the night before last with just olive oil and some S&P along side a nice big salmon filet.

I make mushroom gravy with them. Just plain old milk gravy loaded heavy with the mushrooms. I like a good bit of black pepper in it as well.

Roll them in bisquik pancake batter. You never use anything else. Fry them as normal til golden brown.
