I was thinking today about a way to hang my deer after I get one but don't have time to butcher or want to age the meat some. What if I buy a cheap but working side by side fridge freezer and cut out the vertical divider? I could screw in a bar across the top. I would think the temp would regulate around 35 deg, or would it mess up the freezer. Any thought on this idea or another way to preserve deer for a few days would be appreciated thanks.

You can get a temperature regulator for a chest freezer which will allow you to warm it up to refrigerator like termperatures. This should allow you to age the meat at a constant temp for as long as you want. Home brewers do this all the time to make a Keezer (Kegerator + Freezer).
Exactly! Thanks, it was cold enough to hang my first doe this year outside over night. But I caught hell from the wife. Apparently it is frowned upon to hang a skinned headless deer from our daughters swing set. Who knew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
