Anyone have their taxidermist do a Euro Mount for them and what do they charge? My taxi did one for me 4 years ago and charged me $90. Just got the call to pick up the deer I shot this year and it's going to be $150. 40% increase. He does a great job but I might need to start doing this myself
Do it yourself. It's really easy. Lots of good videos on youtube on how to do a good job. I don't even skin the hide off anymore before I throw it in the pot. Just do a slow simmer and not a hard boil and you will do fine. Change the water a couple of times and add Dawn dish soap as a degreaser. Pick at it as you go. Power wash it up and then use proper whitening solution. Done deal. I did two of them in an afternoon last year.
My guy charges like 90 or 100 bucks. I think it's worth the money. If it was 150 I can see wanting to try it myself
It's free for me! I just trade the cape off the buck for the euro. He gets a back up cape that he can sell to other customers and I get a white skull with no mess. It's great for both of us!
$50 in s central wi. Unlike many, he does them on site...so the price stays down. Edit: TK European mounts
I do mine so it's just the cost of propane, degreaser and Peroxide plus my time. When I don't do them for free for my friends, moose cost $125 for a cow, $150 for a bull plus $25-$50 for the wood mount, depending on style... Only deer I've done was for free, but if I was to charge for one, it would be around $60 plus the wood. The little critters I've done for free as well, I don't watch tv so I have to keep busy... ) I'd do them for $15-$20 each...
Well turns out there was a minor misunderstanding. When I went to pick it up he had it mounted on a plaque. That is why it was $150 instead of $100. He asked if I wanted a plaque when I dropped it off and I said no...oh well I didn't call him on it. I asked if I could purchase a matching plaque to mount my other Euro on and he gave me the extra plaque for free. Happy Customer
Just need some 40 volume peroxide to whiten it afterwards. I put mine in a portable dog kennel to keep critters off it and let set in the sun with the peroxide. Whitens right up. You may also need to degrease it to depending on what it is but some hot water and dawn will do that.
85 bucks here....worth every penny...it is easy as fletch said but it is also nasty... nasty enough that it's worth 85 to me Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
