Hey Guys, Last year I planted my first food plot. Its a small quarter acre in the woods type plot. I planted a mix of Clover, small burnett, and chicory. It also had a small percentage of 2 types of alphapha. As a cover crop I planted Buck Forage Oats that grew amazing but died off quickly. My question is, Once fall hit the plot got covered with leaves. Come sprint should I rake the plot clean before growing season starts? Leaf Blower? or just leave it be? When I first planted the plot last year I put down a bag of 12-12-12 The plot grew to about 4-5 inches tall which is what the guy told me it would grow to about since the first year is mostly root growth. I'm just looking at what I should be doing to make sure the plot comes back again this year but grow more above ground now that it is the 2nd year.
I raked a plot that will get frost seeded next month today and put a little lime down. I can't agree more.
