Here is a picture of my Winfred brassica. Note this was planted the end of May as part of a spring green mix. The triticale i killed off recently and the swiss chard the deer destroyed and it isn't an aggressive regrower. This is "third cutting/regrowth. What i mean by that is i have already clipped it twice to encourage fresh quality forage and regrowth. Many people don't know that brassicas can be grazed and regrow numerous times during a season. I have hit this plot up twice with foliar plant foods and twice with dry 8-13-28-4 The winfred also stays green down to 10 degrees or so.
Yep, last year i had 5 foot tall brassicas that were devoured once the rutabaga and radishes were gone. I use a plant food product that ive invented to "jack up the sugars" and it helps everything becomes more palatable and higher quality. They have been eating those brassicas since June. I keep clipping them to encourage regrowth. Grandpa Ray's 9-4-9 is so not miracle grow. Miracle grow is actually a simplistic product and i like throwing the kitchen sink at crops.
