it was raining today so I went for a hike through the 40. here are some pics of the food plots and other things. This is a mix I call "Intro" It has three different brassica's and two types of clover. I will frost seed more clover into it in February and it will be a clover plot for next few years. This plot was planted on July 27th, it came out of the ground around august 1st, so it is roughly 18 days old. I would say it averages 6 inches in height so far. This is 1 acre of my mix called "freak show" it also was planted on July 27th, an is roughly 18 days old. hands down this is the best producing plot mix I have ever grown. It has multiple brassica varieties, some the deer like early, others they like after good frosts, and the bulbs they dig all winter! that's a full size cooler, I didn't measure it but that plant is at least 10-12 inches tall in 18 days! last year these got to around 30-36 inches tall, the deer really go after them in mid to late November. this is another plot of "intro" it was planted on July 29th. sorry about the pic quality, took them in the rain this is an "Intro" plot i planted on August 12th, here is a persimmon tree I have 6 that I planted in 2010. I think 4 have made it, this one is the best looking one. Hopefully some day they will produce fruit. Here is my sight blocker, almost has blocked the house out! there will be three acre or so of winter wheat planted behind it. I used the sightblocker to create a pinch point for the deer, hopefully it will help to funnel them through the opening, I have a stand to the right of the opening about 25 yards away. This is a sawtooth oak I planted in 2011 also my hunting partners! Everything i do to imporve the property i do with them in mind, can't wait to see them hunting deer and enjoying the thrill of taking there first deer! here is a line of fruit tree's, I have planted them all in the last four or five years, hope you enjoyed the pics! remember to take your family along and enjoy some quality time together!
Get jealous whenever I see your property pics bud, great place and you do awesome things there!!!! Love it!
Planted my Freak Show Aug. 4th. Looking pretty good, have been getting rain mixed with sun and heat. Looks like it grew a couple inches in the last day. Hope it keeps going like it is
