After tilling i spread fertilizer and then dragged the plot with a homemade spike tooth harrow with a weighted roller
After seeding i rolled it again. Finished plot turned out pretty nice. AND it started raining as i pulled out of the property....can't wait to check it in 2 weeks
We've utilized that blend in the past with good success. Haven't used it the last few due to making our own or getting seed from Monsterraxx. Good looking seed bed and plot make up....love it.
nice pictures/ plot. Sounds like a good mix. Cant wait to see some updated pictures. Thanks for sharing.
The seed is a good mix . I have used this seed myself and deer have eaten this quite well. Good luck. Q
Thunderstorms rolled through last night and dropped 1/2 inch of rain...supposed to get more today.....no one at work understands why I'm happy about it
They will never understand why we do what we do haha, but that looks like a good plot and a good mix! Should come up good!
Yes it does...that is the only downfall of the property....sandiest soil i have ever seen. In years when it rains the plot does awesome....in dry years it does poorly....so we will see which one happens this year
You have the absolute inverse in what I have. I have the heaviest, stickiest, nastiest clay. I can go weeks without rain and the ground stays moist. If I get a lot of rain the water just sits on the top. Pick your poison.
I do actually. Whitetail oats Brundage wheat Tall tine turnips Siberian kale Forage brassica (leaves like turnip with no bulb) Triticale...wheat like grain Dwarf Essex rapeseed Dwarf siberian kale Winter peas
