Its another case of Coon Vs Feeder! The coons always seem to win. Im looking for suggestions to prevent them from climbing the center post. Lets hear you guys best idea to stop these little corn ninjas.
There are way too many, and I really don't have any extra time to be running traps. I was thinking something to keep them off the center post would be better for me. Maybe Ill get some traps a little later. Too busy getting those food plots in.
Hotwire 7" off the ground? My first choice would be to trap those little ba****ds, but if that's not an option... .223 and a lot of time?
If you could rig a shepherds hook to hold your feeder off the ground about 5ft. They are not able to jump that high or climb the skinny pole. I've built a peanut butter holder using this trick and it worked great. If you can't do that might want to consider razor wire around the base. Good luck winning that battle. www.GuardianLongRange.com
Depends on how much you want to spend. Put electric fence insulators on center post and wrap with temp electric fence wire. Then connect to a solar electric fence. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The first thing that came to mind was some sort of collar to go on the post. Maybe something as simple as putting a bunch of Vaseline on the post could work.. I have no idea on that one, but I figure it would be hard for them to get a decent grip..
Shark teeth helped on my protein feeders for a while. But, I think the little buggers just got toughened up and within a couple weeks they were right back at it !
