I have private land and am woundering what to grow. There is a lot of small areas that are some what cleared. No large areas to grow a plot. Most of the area is consealed with trees and not a lot of light. I don't know what types of plants to grow to keep the deer coming to the land.

First thing IMO you should do is take out some of the trees that are blocking your sun light, If you want to plant it and leave it, I would look into a perennial like clover.

    Good Luck

Winter rye for the first crop this fall, way less weeds when you plant clover in the spring

Put in a plot with winter rye and clover around labor day, winter rye will feed deer this fall and winter and act as a cover crop while clover is getting established, clover should come up nicely in the spring. Scoot
