I recently wrote an article for QDMA on Creating the Ultimate Kill Plot. I got a response today saying that it will be published in a 2016 issue of the magazine. I was pretty pumped, especially because it wasn't a subject that they requested an article for. Y'all be sure to subscribe to the magazine and keep an eye out for it!

    Can't ruin the surprise :usa:
I will say it covers everything from design, location, size, how to hunt them, what to plant, and etc. It pretty much breaks it down completely.

Do I have to read the whole magazine?

You will have to get the whole magazine, but you don't necessarily have to read the whole thing.

Congrats. I wish it was in a magazine I would buy. I will not support the QDMA in any way shape or form.

I'm not getting into the specifics here. The organization isn't everything their image presents.

I have thought that QDMA was a little cultish, above questioning. It is pretty much antler restrictions only with a fundraising motive. There is nothing wrong with that if you are up front about it. There is nothing altruistic about the hunting industry it is about the $.

I don't necessarily agree with that. For the sake of getting into a huge debate about what a companys goal really is (cause none of us truly know), I won't get to far into it.
I will say that 'antler restrictions' is a very very small part of QDMA. The main goal of QDMA is improving your habitat and over all health of your deer herd. I deer herd where deer are able to reach maturity is a much healthy herd, it's not about the size of the antlers. This is one of the main focuses of the QDMA. Another focus is on having quality habitat to support a healthy deer herd. A good deal of what we know about whitetailed deer has came from the QDMA re search facility's.

I didn't say I won't look for the article online......

Let's be honest food plots are to hold deer in an area sure plots can help promote healthy herds but the main reason put them in is to hold deer close. But lets not argue I am sorry to be part of veering off topic here.

    No problem, no offense taken.
I agree, food plots alone are not going to create a healthy herd. QDM and habitat management goes way beyond food plots.
Thanks for checking it out when it hits the website though! I'm looking forward to all the feedback.

I don't think the QDMA's goals are bad and QDM itself is a great thing. Its how the organization is run and specifically parts of the country that get the lobbying priority and parts of the country that are flat out ignored.
