So those of you that feed deer in the winter how much do you feed per week? Not a bad winter so far, been cold but not lots of snow so I am feeding around 25 pounds per day. Not compared to other years where I thru out 25 pounds of whole kernel corn and 25 pounds of deer feed and clover or alfalfa.

Haven't put anything out yet. Open winter and plenty of corn fields and CRP around for them to find food. My put some shelled corn out when we get some snow.

Me and my buddy decided to both try out the Banks feeders 275#. They are really nice but we are just hoping the deer here in Kentucky will use them. We both put ours up last weekend and filled with roughly 90% corn and rest protein pellets. Also added some black magic for smell. We went out and checked cameras and not one picture with a deer. Good news we expected this, and the corn was good and dry after a full week almost of rain. And no coons , squirrels, etc. eating the corn. So if deer start eating out of it , well worth it. But to answer your question we will fill up almost 250# , then check it in about 3 weeks.

Definitely hasn't been to bad so far. I was doing the same for awhile 25-50lbs/day but it just hasn't been that bad lots of food for them to eat. Hopefully the mild weather will continue I have to drag by hand and it is a PIA.

The deer density for my property has been a record low this year. I used to could put out a 50# bag of corn and have to put another Bag out a week later. But this year, I bought a 50# bag, and maybe 5-10 # in the location I mentioned. And I would also put corn out at 2 other locations. And a 50# bag would last probably 3 weeks.

So it all depends on the deer density in your area

1 small square bale of alfalfa a week right now. Only have 9 deer total of which only 4 are there daily using this property.
No farms around here so feeding corn would kill them.

    Corn does not kill deer.
