My plan going into last weekend was to disc, plant and fertilize all in the same day. I was successful in the first two steps, but not the 3rd.

After planting I ran to the co-op who I had talked to the day before regarding fertilizer, and they were unexpectedly closed due to an emergency.

Long story short I've got food plots planted with no fertilizer.

    I've got a few options.

    1. Wait until my next opportunity to drive to the property (possibly 1.5 weeks away)

    2. Make a very inconvenient 6 hr round trip after work one night and do it asap

In your opinion is waiting up to two weeks going to hurt the success of the plots enough to make it worth driving during the week and doing it sooner?

Not a problem to wait a couple of weeks. If the soil is of decent quality I actually prefer to fertilize later.

LC often fertilized at planting as well as a few weeks after germination. His plots always looked great but he said when you top dress fertilizers its best to do just before a good rain. Hopefully it all works out for you.

You will be fine to wait a few weeks. Don't sweat

MnMoose is absolutely correct. You need a good rain afterwards to prevent from burning up the new growth.

You'll be fine. Like said, if you can catch it right before a rain it would be better.
