This was a barren logging road back in the first of April. I disked it and fertilized it with nitrogen urea (46-0-0). It's now over knee high with new growth. There is already signs of moderate browse pressure on it and it will be great fawning cover.
A lost art form of habitat work. Get sun in and fertilize what is there....natural brows explosion! Fallow fields do this over time and we all know how attractive that is to deer. My new property's main bedding area is a 7+ year old fallow field...we brush hogged a big clearing and are just gonna let nature do it's thing....deer were in it nibbling that night :D
