Super excited ! It's an old 1949 Ford 9n tractor a friend owned and sold to me cheap. I have previously used my atv with my groundhog max to do plots and now I can really do some damage ! I am away for work in China right now but I got the plots dished and planted with some clover and alfalfa products. Hopefully I will be back home in wisconsin in August so I can plant some turnips for bow season. Next spring I will look to massively increase the size of my plots. Right now I have 4 quarter acre plots and 2 eighth acre plots. Want to get alot bigger on our 80 acres next season ! Yes, there are apt to be a few things to tinker with on it but if you have any knowledge of mechanical workings, they are very basic and simple to fix. And even though those old greys are at least 64 years old (last 8n made in 1952) most parts are still available!
Congrats on the Tractor! I would Look for a small moldboard plow to go behind it for breaking new ground. A 2 bottom can be had for cheap no need to go buy a new one. decide where you want your new plot plow it in the fall then work again in the spring with disc. I don't remember the 8N is rated at but figure 1hp for every inch of plow so if it's a 30hp then a 2 bottom with 15" cut would be about the biggest plow it can handle. plows are measure on the size of cut. I personally like 15" they clean out nice an do a good job when turning over things like Alfalfa with their root system.. Hope you don't mind the extra info.. Congrats on tractor again!

I remember when we went from doing food plots with an ATV to a tractor. Never looked back. It is the best thing we ever done. Now the 4 wheeler is for just going to look at them, not build them!! Congrats on the tractor!!!!
If they are running top notch, the N's will produce about 25 HP. Look for an old Dearborn 2 bottom plow and a set of 6' discs. Both will work just fine with an N.
Never been around a king kutter disc. (Farming background) I know IH makes a great disc.. And other tillage implements as well. You see a lot of green tractors with red implements behind them.
Very nice! My dad still has Grandpa Fitz's old 8N. Great tractors. He actually sold it about 15 years ago an bought it back from the guy 2 Springs ago. I think we might do a resto on it one of these winters
