If you are at all like myself, September 24th cannot come any quicker. I've been getting my cameras zeroed in and shooting my bow daily. I'm also excited for the first of September for some dove shooting. I am curious what you guys are doing to pass the time and get ready for another successful season?

Same as everyone else. Planting food plots, hanging stands, trimming shooting lanes ect. 32 more days!

Hey Jdubz, where in Ohio you from? I'm near Marietta in the southeast. I've been shooting just about every other day. I've got a couple trail cams out but I'm doing my best to stay out of the woods this year and only check them every 3 weeks. I've been a bit intrusive the past couple years i think. It's a weird year because I'm going on my first elk hunt in October. So part of me is excited for that yet I'm still trying to focus on the Ohio opener as well.

    Anyways, good luck!

Travis, I'm in the southwest of ohio, north of Dayton. I put out two cams last week, hung a feeder and put out a few salt block sites. I have also been a bit intrusive in years past and am really working on being patient. Ive always wanted to go on an elk hunt! Where are you going? That is a nice distraction to keep your mind off of ohios opener. Good luck to you sir. Post pics!!

What do you put out for your food plots and how big of an area do you put out, Bear?

Definitely looking forward to the season. First attempt at food plots has been a bust... Not seeing any good shooters on camera yet. Still have some trimming/stand maintenance to do. I picked up a new filming package that I need to familiarize myself with before the season starts.

Headed to Pagosa Springs for the 2nd rifle season. I'm super pumped. My dad went when I was a kid and always said he'd take me out. I asked him if we were ver gonna do this about it two years ago and this year we are finally going. A good guilt trip works wonders. I'm 30 now so we have waited a while, haha. Better late than never. It especially sweet since earlier this year we found out he has cancer. Thought that it might be super bad and we wouldn't be able to go buy the chemo is working, he feels just fine, and we can still go. I'm grateful to God for that.

He's gonna rent a horse but I'm getting in the best shape I can so I can climb the mountains and get away from the pressure. Really looking forward to it.

I'm im NE Ohio. Canton, Akron area. Here it's all beans and corn fields. I usually plant clover and run feeders on the place I hunt. It's about 125 acres. Let's see a few of those Ohio hit listers!

SW Ohio checking in. I mostly hunt the Cincy burbs, but I have a new 300 acre farm in Adams Co. Stands are going up this weekend, but I'm still not getting the big bucks on cam. Just a bunch of iffy shooters...

Licking County here. Moved up from NC last winter looking forward to a great bow season and hopefully getting my wife onto her first deer. We hunt 90 acres of her families land in Lawrence county, and we have a few places that only hunt gun season in Licking county. Should find out today if our offer was accepted on a house with 6.5 acres. I walked the property last night saw sign galore, sat on the porch and tossed corn kernals to a does about 10 feet away, and wife jumped a big buck out of the clump of trees next to the detached garage. So i guess if my dogs dont run them off I should be able to hunt the property aswell.
