Next year I will be hunting Sika deer on the MD eastern shore with these guys:http://www.muddymarshoutfitters.com/index.html

I will be booking my dates the last week of January when they start booking for the year. Rates are $225 a day and a two day minimum, they also provide lodging. All the reviews online and from people I know who've hunted with them have been positive.

I thought maybe this would be a good opportunity to get together with some members here and hunt an animal that most people wouldn't otherwise have access to. Sika deer are free ranging on the shore of MD and not a high fence exotic hunt. If there is any interest in doing this please let me know, we will have to have all plans made soon, these guys book solid every year.

That'd be a pretty good time it seems, I was looking at a place in TN that had little of everything but decided against it because of the lack of feedback found. It seemed like more of a game ranch too.

This is absolutely NOT a game farm. Maryland has a rather large herd of wild Sika deer that have been here for a very long time. There is a lot of public land hunting opportunities to hunt them, however the swamps and marshes they live in can be very difficult and dangerous to navigate on your own if you don't have experience there.

Sound like it'd definitely be little challenging if that's the case

Hmmm... do you happen to know, on average, how many days it typically takes to punch a tag? How many were you planning to book?

I will check into their success rates. This is an archery only outfitter who shuts down during firearm season to provide a sanctuary for the deer in the area so their success ratio may be slightly lower than some others in the area. I plan to do at least a three day hunt. These little elk rut mid October so I was thinking of booking sometime around then. That way I don't miss out on the whitetail rut.

If anyone is interested my family has a beach house that is relatively close by that we can use for the night before and night after the hunt.

I'm interested in going, been wanting to do this for years. There is also a guy from MD on here that shot a stag this year and entered it in the contest, he might be able to give some advice.

Anyone who is interested keep in touch with me over the next two months either by this thread or by pm. I got an email back from MMO and they told me they begin booking for the 2016/17 season the last week of January 2016, so we need to have our plans settled by then. I think either sometime within the first two weeks would be our best bet from what I've read but I'm open to other suggestions.
