Simple enough question. I want a show of hands from those of you who have actually shot and killed a deer, with your bow, while it was in a food plot that you planted.

    Nope. Just off them.

Wait, yes. I killed one with a ML last fall with my son sitting in a blind on his favorite plot.

Never hunted over a food plot yet either. But I will be trying for the first time this year. At least I think I will be. I guess it depends on what the deer are doing and the time of year. That will dictate how far down the trail I will need to hunt. I will likely stay as far away from the their bedding as possible but yet close enough I catch them in daylight. Thus I won't be doing any morning hunts until later in the year.

I am interested in the answers that others will give.

Just planted first food plot last year. I shot 2 deer within 50 yards of plot. My dad shot two within 10 yards of the food plot. All were bow. I guess no if you want the deer standing in the food plot. Hoping to kill some turkeys off of it tonight though with a friend.

My dad should have had a buck that was in the food plot with muzzleloader, but he forgot to put his primer on. I know, I know, bow only.

Nope. Hope to try my hand at a plot someday when I have my own land to do as I choose.

My first deer ever was a Doe over about an 1/8 acre clover plot in the woods. My most recent buck was in an acre corn field I planted. All the rest were not around food plots

I have yet to kill anything in my plots, been planting then for about six years. I seldom hunt over them though.

I voted yes but my official answer is kinda. It was right on the edge but I believe it was eating in the plot

Idk if that was tongue in cheek but I'll answer for him, in my case I plant solely to hold deer on the property more. Just because there is food in a spot doesn't make it the best stand location.
