cameras are looking pretty weak thus far with my first few pulls. A few small bucks and does... nothing mature yet. I will be going on my annual Western NY bowhunt this year where I have shot most of my large deer over the years. last 3 years have been uneventful though.. hopefully that changes this season.

Haven't done much hunting the last two years, so I'm looking forward to this season. I don't have any pics to show cause both my trail cams broke, and I can't replace them. So I have no idea what's out there, but I will enjoy every minute of this coming season.
Checking in guys. I'll be hunting IL this year. Have about 10 acres to hunt behind the house in NE Illinois, will be hunting a lottery piece of public land close to home, and also have two separate leases in far NW IL that I'll be hunting. We aren't running cameras on the farms in NW IL this year, but we had several good deer on camera last year out there in the 130-160 range. We didn't kill any of them, so I'm pretty sure we'll do well this year out there. Good luck to everyone, look forward to getting to know you guys a bit better this year!
Checking in from Southern Illinois. I'll be hunting here and also Southern Indiana, and west Texas. I've been busy with work so I just got the cameras out the first of the month, so I'll let you guys know what I get on first pull, I do have a couple of bucks I've spotted at one of our properties, one we have been hunting for a few years and I'm thinking he will go 170. The other one looks about 130 maybe.

Nice looking deer Andrew. Checked some of mine the other day. Had one showing of a nice one I think is from last year. His sheds were 140ish so happy to see him. Few other smaller ones. Well boys since I don't have pictures yet this year I'll show some from last year. My son got his first deer last year @ age 11 with me sitting in the tree with him. We hadn't seen anything all night then as I glass down the river bank I caught antlers. I gave the binocs to my son (Max) and he gave it a peak and gave them right back to me... Saying "I need to get ready". We had a buck working his way down the river right to us. Finally he made it to us and stopped slightly quartering away. Max lifted his bow and the buck turned and stared for at least 2 minutes and Max froze the whole time with his arm extended. By then my heart was pumping so dang hard I could barely take it anymore. After what felt like an eternity the buck looked away and Max drew and let loose. Smack!! Buck took off out the way he came. He hit him a little far back so I told him we'd come back first thing in the morning and explained to him why. So next morning we call into school and play hooky. We followed blood the night before on the trail out so we picked up where we left off. As soon as I start looking for blood again I hear "There he is!" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
