    Sycamoretwitch checking in.

Hunting Vigo and Clay Co. in Indiana. Western Indiana.

Here are two of the bucks I am after this season in Clay Co. No real serious targets on my Vigo Co. property as of yet. But food plots were put in 2 weeks ago and are off to a great start!

Thank you hoythunter. I was going to do that when I got home and could use an actual computer. I'm rocking the central Illinois area. LaSalle county to be specific. No pictures, been too busy this summer. I share 60 acres of timber/ravines with my dad (short69-team 18) that sits right next to 300 acres of off road park timber that we can also hunt.

I will be hunting in southern Nebraska on our farm which is 70 acres along with my lease which boarders it. There is also a small creek by my house that has a few trees on it where deer live, I have a stand up there on a 1/2 acre alfalfa/clover plot, no decent bucks there though, not yet anyway. I also might get the chance to hunt a creek in the early season where we farm. I only have one shooter on cam as well as a few nice 3yos that need another year or two. Sorry guys I won't be posting any trail cam pics. My season starts on September 1st.

    Thats a nice buck sycamore!!

Hoty? Just because I am curious, do you not run cameras or do you not post photos For anonymity purpose? I feel like that is probably pretty smart if so!

I have 6 cameras and I have showed the pics to people before and it turned out bad. Really bad. So now I don't show anyone any pics from a trail cam or of any big deer I've seen. I don't even show many people my kills. It kinda sucks that I can't share but it's better off that way.

Do you have monster deer where you hunt like most IA people?

What do you think the biggest reason is for big deer in Iowa.

    Cover
    Genetics
    Age
    Gun season late
    Ect...?

Gun season late after rut is a big reason. Also in Iowa you only get one buck tag for bow and then one for a gun season(shot gun or muzzleloader not both). No rifle season. Great genetics and food source. But mostly on how limits on tags are set

We have our rifle season in the rut and not a lot of cover around, roads every mile, and 2 buck tags. Usually buck wont get to more then 3 or sometimes 4 before they're shot.

Ya a lot of bucks go noc turnal and only time you have a good shot at a monster is during rut. Bow hunters take there fair share but many more would be shot if there was a gun season in there. I love how Iowa has it set up
