Me and my dad are looking to get a new compound for my uncle for Christmas. We have around 700 dollars for him. Any suggestions in that range?

Kind of hard to suggest a bow for someone, but I really like my Bowtech Assassin. I paid $619 for mine brand new and it's a great shooting bow; fast, smooth, pretty quiet. The rest is kind of crappy but works fine.

Hoyt or Bowtech, these are the only 2 brands I would go with. You won't go wrong with either one, check out the bowtech destroyer le or that hoyt rampage is nice. I shoot diamond which is a bowtech, bowtech and hoyt. Had pse, bear and alpine archery, matthews all will get the job done but my most troublesome bows have been from matthews and pse. Been shooting bows for 21years now......

Check out the 2013 Hoyt Charger My wife surprised me with one 3 weeks ago and upgraded me from my Hoyt Ultramag, and it is banging for the bucks. Out the door fully loaded for around 599.

Man thats tough. Haven't shot the Prophecy but the other two I have and thats a tough decision. Of the 3G and the XT I liked the XT more, but only barely. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of those three. If you can shoot all three back to back to back. That will tell you. Like I said, don't think you can go wrong.

You should probably take him to a bow shop and let him shoot several bows, just because you and your Dad like it doesn't mean your uncle will like the bow.

The hoyt charger is a great package bow, for the money they put great accesories on it, can't go wrong with that one. Diamond and PSE also have good bow packages in that price range, check it out at the cabelas's website.

I would suggest a gift card to your local bow shop. Everyone is different and their shooting form strengths/weaknesses will suit different bows. I personally choose my bow shop...and then the bow. Having a local expert available to service the bow that you have confidence in is priceless! (No..I am not a bow shop owner). Let him shoot them all and he will know which one is right for him!

Check out Bear. I shoot Bear and love the bow and the company. Nothing but positive about the company.

Julian, I just shot the G5 Quest Torrent. This thing is a super nice bow for the price. Usually the accessories on the RTH packages are crap but, the ones G5 have put on the Torrent are excellent quality. Shooting it was really nice as well. Smooth draw and the back wall is as solid as they get. Worth trying out for sure!

I was looking at the torrent too but I was a little skeptical because I like a longer ATA bow and it seems a little short

I would go with a Bowtech Assassin, but it really comes down to what he would like, for example he might like a shorter style bow, solocam, it really is hard to say.
But you really cant go wrong with a Bowtech Assassin or Diamond Outlaw.
