Hi I am new to this site and can tell you I love my Phoenix. It has a very smooth draw and generous valley. You cannot go wrong with one of the obsession bows. It is just as smooth as my energy 35 . hope this helps.

I preferred their older ones that used the lethal cam. To me, the Evolution cam drops into the valley very abruptly.
I had the DefCon M6 and it was awesome. For a speed bow it has a smooth draw cycle and a great valley. Almost like it locks up. Once at full draw you can hold it forever. If you creep a little it doesn't try to rip your shoulder off. I would recommend a modular cam one over a fixed cam one. They are a little easier to sell later if you decide too. Great bow.

A buddy has owned a couple, but is selling them as Obsession sold out to ARCUS not too long ago and things have changed. Biggest issue is the lifetime transferable warranty has been discontinued and is now similar to most other bow companies. Also I heard that while allowing online sales, bows purchased that way are not covered by warranty. If you have a model you really like an are buying it new from a dealer, then you should be OK......otherwise things are quite different now.
The transferable warranty was one of the best things for resale. Be a shame if they let that go. Maybe it'll help brick and mortar stores. The days where lots of guys would buy a new bow every year are kind of behind us with more opting to keep theirs for a few years. Bow prices really haven't helped. The change in warranty didn't kill Elite. The lack of that type of warranty doesn't hurt the other big guys. OP go shoot one and you'll get it. They shoot lights out. Every company will have detractors. Every company will have hugely loyal fans. Like many avid archers I've shot and owned bows from all the big guys. The 2 Obsessions I have right now are 2 of the best I've ever shot. That doesn't mean you'll love them. Just means I do. Check em out for yourself. You'll be glad you did.
If you bought your Obsession bow used, new at a shop or on the internet before the warranty change you still have the lifetime transferable warranty. So basically if you have a 2016 model on back and bought it under those pretenses you still have it. Going to the standard warranty that all of the other brands have is for 2017 bows forward.
