Switching from crossbow to traditional compound hunting so all this is new to me. I was offered a fairly new 2014 year model hoyt faktor 30. I was wondering what everyone's take was on this particular bow and on hoyt in general. BTW I'm completely new to this forum (30 minutes new) and this is my first post. Looking to be a sponge and pick up all your veteran knowledge!

Owned one, loved how it felt, loved how it shot. Absolutely hated how hard it was to get it to shoot fixed blade broadheads.
    So I sold it.

Check out elite bows they are pretty nice too they have great solid backwall that Hoyt doesn't and have a nice dwell zone and pretty good let off

Welcome to the forum. Have a couple friends that have the Factor. not my preference but they seem to like theirs.
Get out and shoot a bunch if you haven't bought this one and see what you like.

    ENJOY!!!!!

Never shot a Faktor, but had the 2015 Nitrum 30. Over the last couple of years, I've shot the Spyder 30, Carbon Spyder 30, Nitrum 30, and now the Carbon Spyder 34.

I prefer the longer ATA bow over the shorter ones. Something to think about when getting into it, I understand that you're getting this bow for a good price (maybe free even), just something to think about in learning to shoot a bow well...

    Otherwise, Welcome!!

I have shot the Factor. It is a real nice bow. If you have a chance to get a deal on one, I'd say that's better than what most people start out with. I've owned a few Hoyts and killed deer with them. You'd be happy with the purchase.
