    hey guys,
so I got a new XOP hang on stand. Very similar to the lone wolf that has 2 versa buttons for the straps. The question I have is do you have to use both straps? Is it safe to just use with the top versa button and cam lock the stand in? or do I have to use both. I weigh 155 but not sure if that matters any.

If one is good...... two is better.

I always attach ALL of the straps and safety devices.

Don't take a chance with your life. Use all the straps.

The bottom strap is there to prevent the platform from moving.

I get being safe. the reason I ask is because all my other hang on stands i've had only had 1 strap which was in about the same spot as the versa button on this new stand. So just was curious if it was needed or had a reason since all my other ones never had any issues with just 1 strap. Not a big deal if i used both at all and was more or less a curiosity reason.

When not using my hand climber, I use a lone wolf assault with the e-z hang hook and only the top strap, as per the lone wolfs instructions. Then cam lock the platform of the stand once the strap is cinched down and snug. So I am not too sure how much different what you're trying to do would be, especially since the XOP's and the LW's are very similar stands. I have wondered a couple times though if I should add the bottom strap as well, but just have stuck to doing it the way that was directed.

Someone already said it but the second strap at the bottom is to keep the stand from kicking out when your trying to get in. its a extra safety precaution. you other stands with just one strap are fine but the bottom of the stand can probably be moved left and right unlike the stands that use 2 straps

Thanks guys. I'll use both straps as it only takes an extra 10 seconds to put it on. Here is the stand that I've been using for years that you cant even get anymore. Its a Loc-On Limit. Never had an issue with it with 1 strap even though its wider than the ones you get with Lone wolf/XOP. That's why I was just curious. I'll use both to be safe.
